BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) —The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the installation of 11 Rainwater Collector Systems (RWCS) in various elementary schools across the province.
DPWH First District Engineer Marifel Andes explained that the RWCS will help communities conserve water while providing schools with an alternative water supply.
“These RWCS support sustainable resource management by reducing reliance on traditional water sources,” she said.
Andes mentioned that the RWCS units were installed in elementary schools in the following barangays: Ocapon, Sawmill, Nagbitin, Juan Manzano, and Bintawan Norte in Villaverde town; Darubba in Quezon town; Casat and Masoc in Bayombong town; and Almaguer North and Manamtam in Bambang town.
The P2.9 million RWCS projects, funded under the 2024 Regular Infrastructure Program, were completed with gutters, pipes, pedestals, and concrete flooring. (OTB/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
