LA PAZ, Abra (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Abra District Engineering Office (DEO) is committed to modernizing infrastructures in the province of Abra.
Abra DEO District Engineer Edwin T. Bringas, during the inauguration of the Dumet Bridge in Poblacion, La Paz, shared that the construction of the 22-lineal meter steel bridge symbolizes the commitment to modernize infrastructure in the province.
He also said that the newly-opened is made for durability to address the transportation needs of the province, boost the economy, and ensure safer travels.
Aside from connecting communities, the Dumet Bridge which lights up at night, has also become one of the attractions in the province with locals visiting the area to see its unique and colorful architecture.
The bridge started construction of both the left and right bridges with bridge and suspension arches in July 2022.
Bringas said the more than P48.99-million worth project was constructed under the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) program of the DPWH.
The inauguration of the bridge on October 31, 2024 was led by Bringas and OIC-Assistant District Engineer Jayson Hendrix N. Labuguen with Congresswoman Menchie Bernos and League of Municipalities in the Philippines National President La Paz Mayor JB Bernos. (JJPM, PIA-CAR, Abra)
