BAGABAG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed a ₱70-million Flood Control and Drainage Structure along the Kinacao Section of the Magat River in this town.
DPWH’s First Engineering District Chief Engineer Marifel Andes said the newly-completed flood control and drainage structure is expected to protect the lives and properties of at least 250 residents in the area from flash floods during downpours.
Andes said the project involved the installation of steel sheet piles and the construction of gabion spur dikes in a 320-meter slope protection system designed to reduce flooding and protect against soil erosion.
He added that the project structure was funded and implemented under the Regular Infrastructure Program for 2023. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
