DPWH-NCR collects over 400kg of waste in Manila Bay during ICCU

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) collected over 400kg of coastal waste in Manila Bay.

The officials and personnel of DPWH-NCR recently participated in the International Coastal Clean Up (ICCU) at Manila Bay Walk Dolomite Beach, where a total number of 472.4 kg of coastal waste were collected during the activity.

DPWH-NCR Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan emphasized the importance of DPWH’s participation in promoting environmental awareness and action. She reminded the employees of their commitment in keeping the oceans, and waterways clean for generations to come.

The ICCU is an annual event that aims to raise awareness, and encourage people to act in cleaning up the world’s oceans and waterways. The collected waste will be properly disposed of to prevent further pollution, and damage to the environment. (DPWH-NCR/PIA-NCR)
