DPWH-NCR reactivates ‘Lakbay Alalay’ for Undas

PASIG CITY, (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Motorist Assistance Teams are all geared up and ready to assist motorists for Undas.

The DPWH-NCR teams are out on strategic points around the region from October 31, 2023 (8:00 a.m.), to November 2, 2023 (5:00 p.m.) for the reactivation of the ‘Lakbay Alalay’ program to aid commuters, and motorists along major national roads during the holidays.

DPWH-NCR Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan emphasized the importance of ‘Lakbay Alalay’ in advising the public to take extra caution and seek assistance in times of need.

The maintenance team will be working with partner agencies by assisting in traffic management, informing road users of alternative routes, and providing rescue in road and emergency situations.

The assistance teams are located in the following areas:

  • In front of San Miguel Beer, McArthur Highway, Valenzuela City
  • C4 Road, Bagumbayan North, Navotas City
  • A.H. Lacson Ave. cor. España Blvd., Manila
  • Roxas Blvd. cor. South Blvd.
  • Sucat Rd., in front of SM Sucat under C5 Rd. Exit Flyover
  • Commonwealth Ave. cor. San Simon St., QC
  • GMA-Kamuning MRT Station, EDSA Northbound, QC
  • Marcos Highway under Marikina MRT Station
  • 2555 West Bank Rd., Manggahan Floodway, Rosario, Pasig City
  • MSR Quirino, Brgy. Alabang (viaduct), Muntinlupa City

Moreover, the DPWH-NCR ensured that necessary materials, such as proper signs, warning signs, and informational and directional signs were installed at a clear, safe site distance for all ongoing projects to safeguard road users prior to the start of the holiday rush.

Regular maintenance activities such as pothole patching, repainting of pavement markings, installation of public advisory signs, and others were also conducted within their respective areas. (DPWH-NCR/PIA-NCR)
