DPWH reaffirms vow to be community’s dev’t partner

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reaffirms its commitment to be a partner of the people in development.

This after the DPWH-Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office (SMDEO) was recognized by the local government of Gloria in Oriental Mindoro as a development partner towards community accessibility and infrastructure development during the town’s Community Volunteers and Stakeholders Day: A Celebration of Success on September 26.

DPWH-SMDEO District Engineer Annielyn E. Padullo said the celebration highlighted the journey of the community under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI CIDSS) program.

“This has been the municipality’s foundation towards supporting the development and improving the community’s welfare through the community-driven development approach to address poverty and empower local communities,” said Padullo.

The town of Gloria acknowledged the significant contributions of the various national government agencies. The celebration is an affirmation of DPWH partnership and collective efforts in the development projects in the area.

Meanwhile, Padullo expressed her gratitude to the local government of Gloria and the entire community for helping them in carrying out their mandate by bringing development to the area through various infrastructure support programs.

She received the plaque of recognition in honor of the DPWH’s commitment as a development partner of the said municipality and its collaboration and continuous support in improving the people’s quality of life through providing quality infrastructure facilities and services.

Padullo emphasized that they continuously develop and maintain an efficient road network, bridges, and highways to improve the connectivity of people in the community, thus, facilitating smoother transportation and boosting economic activities. (LTC/PIA MIMAROPA)
