CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office (SMDEO) recently conducted validation of the removal obstruction within the five (5) specific road sections; 2 km length each identified by the District Maintenance Point Persons led by District Engineer Annielyn E. Padullo.
Identifying and validating road sections that needed clearing of obstruction by the department started this February and has been ongoing up to date in order to identify complex concerns that needed to be immediately resolved.
Padullo said clearing of obstruction along the National Road Right-Of-Way (NRROW) is in accordance with the mandate of the department for the purpose of implementing road widening projects complete with roadside structures, shoulders, drainage, and walkways in accordance with Batasang Pambansa 344 or the Accessibility Law.
This is also in line with the advocacy of SMDEO during the launching of the #A-Vocation-S3 on February 2023, to carry out best practices in promoting safety, security, and comfort along the National Road in collaboration with other offices like local government units (LGUs), Department of Environment of Natural Resources (DENR), and Land Registration Authority (LRA) focusing to resolve arising issues raised by Persons Affected Properties (PAPs).
Moreover, SMDEO’s program of clearing obstruction with the tagline “Involve to Resolve” is a continuous effort committed in delivering the highest quality of roads and bridges that will provide ease and comfort for all road users. (DPWH SMDEO/JJGS PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
