Drainage system rehab boosts flood mitigation in P’que City

PARAÑAQUE CITY, (PIA) — Good news! To strengthen the community’s resilience against climate-related challenges, the Department of Public Works and Highways – Metro Manila 2nd District Engineering Office upgraded the drainage system along Sto. Niño Street, Barangay Moonwalk in Parañaque City.

According to DPWH, the project aims to significantly reduce flooding in the area to protect the lives, and properties of the residents, while improving public health and accessibility.

The enhanced drainage efficiency minimizes water stagnation, reducing health risks associated with waterborne diseases. Likewise, the upgraded pavements and new infrastructure ensure improved road durability, and functionality, especially during heavy rainfall.
