MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) – In support of the ‘First 1000 Days ni Baby’ program dubbed as 4Ps F1KD, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 implements its expanded cash grants to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.
“Ang proyekto sa 4Ps karon nagsuporta sa balaod sa First 1000 days ni baby, maghatag ug additional nga grant sa mga 4Ps beneficiaries nga buros ug [adunay] 0-2 years old nga mga bata para makasugakod sila sa maayong nutrisyon sa atong mga kabataan. Ang madawat sa mga household or miyembro P350.00 [kada bulan],” DSWD-10 4Ps Division Chief Kenneth Haze S. Lustre said.
(The 4Ps project now supports the “First 1000 Days ni Baby” law, providing additional grants to pregnant beneficiaries and those with children aged 0-2 to ensure proper nutrition. Eligible households or members receive P350 per month.)
Lustre explained that the grant aims to prevent stunting in children by supporting 4Ps beneficiaries during pregnancy and their child’s first two years.
Program Conditions
To ensure that the grant is used as intended, DSWD-10 established guidelines in line with RA 11148, or the “Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act.”
Pregnant beneficiaries must attend at least eight prenatal consultations throughout their pregnancy, as prescribed by the DOH protocol.
They must fully avail of maternal health and nutrition interventions, including immunizations, micronutrient supplements, and regular blood pressure and weight monitoring.
Expectant mothers must also attend prenatal counseling sessions and seek delivery services from skilled health professionals at the appropriate level of Basic or Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric Care.
Mothers must complete at least four follow-up visits at a health facility within six weeks of childbirth, following DOH guidelines.
Parents of children aged 0-2 must ensure their newborns receive 100 percent Essential Intrapartum Newborn Care and Newborn Screening.
They must also fully avail of routine immunizations following the latest DOH protocols.
Parents must ensure monthly growth and development monitoring for infants under six months, along with proper nutrition promotion.
Additionally, parents must ensure their children receive 100 percent of health and nutrition interventions, including dietary supplements, micronutrient supplements, and anti-helminthic (deworming) tablets.
4Ps F1KD Registration
To make the registration for the 4Ps F1KD grant, DSWD sets a digital and self-service web portal platform for 4Ps household beneficiaries the ‘i-Registro ang F1KD sa 4Ps’.
“Ang F1KD in effect na siya karon; bali ang official nga pagsugod January until mag 2 years old ang bata. Ang January to February mahimo na siyang grace period nga dili sa sila icheck sa ilahang compliance. Pero by March kinahanglan katong tanan nga nagparehistro nga mabdus ug naay [bata na] 0-2 years old, subayon sila sa mga social case workers in the field sa ilang compliance,” DSWD-10 Listahanan Regional Field Coordinator Jamila M. Taha said.
(The F1KD program is now in effect, starting in January and continuing until the child turns two. Compliance checks will not be enforced from January to February.
By March, social workers will monitor pregnant beneficiaries and parents of children aged 0-2 for compliance.)
The portal aimed to expedite 4Ps beneficiaries updating the information in the Pantawid Pamilya Information System (PPIS) needed by the 4Ps program for the F1KD conditional cash grant rollout. Through the i-Registro web portal, 4Ps household beneficiaries who are pregnant and/or have children aged 0-2 years old can now update their PPIS information via online, especially if they have mobile devices, internet, and stable connection in their area so that there is no need to travel.
DSWD-10 urges its 4Ps beneficiaries who are pregnant or have a child aged 0-2 years old to visit the web portal: https://iregistro-4ps.dswd.gov.ph to register. For inquiries, they may call the i-Registro Hotline Number: 0918 789 4272. (JAKA/PIA-10)
