CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 served 47,378 beneficiaries during the two-day Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Bukidnon province, November 11–12.
DSWD provided financial assistance to 8,000 clients who are in a crisis, 1,500 applicants who secured clearances, passports, and permits, 3,000 indigent residents for rice and cash assistance, 24,000 residents from Lantapan, Impasug-ong, San Fernando, and Cabanglasan who are in crisis, 10,000 residents who received food packs, and 3,878 beneficiaries received livelihood assistance from the Sustainable Livelihood Program.
The local government units in Bukidnon identified the beneficiaries, while DSWD Field Office-10 verified the identified grantees.
The Serbisyo Fair was a two-day service caravan bringing various government programs and services to Bukidnon province. Services included social services, financial assistance, licensing, passports, and NBI clearance, among others, inside the Bukidnon State University Campus, Malaybalay City, and another payout center in the province.
The activity had a bi-fold purpose: improving the efficiency and accessibility of government services and, at the same time, raising awareness among the people of the various government programs and projects.
The Office of the President initiated the activity in coordination with the Office of the Speaker, the House of Representatives, the Presidential Communication Office, and other national government agencies and LGUs. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)
