DSWD distributes P3M livelihood assistance grants to beneficiaries in Mansalay

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Mansalay recently distributed the livelihood assistance grants amounting to P3 million to 300 eligible beneficiaries of the said town.

The fund for the project came from the Office of the President in coordination with the local government.  It is intended specifically for sustainable livelihood projects of the beneficiaries like hog raising, fish vending, food vending, sari-sari store, poultry raising, among others.

The Balugo Riverside Sustainable Livelihood Program Association is one of the beneficiaries that received P300,000 which is intended for their swine production project.

According to DSWD, the provision of the livelihood program aims to reduce poverty and inequality among beneficiaries towards economic stability.  The program serves the Pantawid Pamilya members for their socio-economic benefits.
