DSWD MIMAROPA conducts site visitation for PAMANA Program projects

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA conducted site visits for the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Program projects in the municipalities of Victoria, Gloria, Bongabong, Mansalay, and Bulalacao in Oriental Mindoro, as well as San Jose in Occidental Mindoro.

The site visits, conducted from October 14 to 23, 2024, were conducted to ensure that all project implementation processes align with the program’s rules and principles and to confirm that these projects will be completed with high integrity, benefiting the community in the long term.

The PAMANA Program projects aim to address gaps in access to social services, particularly for vulnerable communities, including indigenous peoples and areas affected by armed conflict.

A DSWD press release said the projects include concreting access roads, building classrooms, procuring e-learning equipment, acquiring medical supplies and equipment, establishing multi-purpose community halls, and building transitional shelters.

Currently, the total funding for projects under the PAMANA Program has reached P20,627,738.09, benefiting 15,453 households in the MIMAROPA region.

The activities were led by KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office Staff, including Regional Infrastructure Officer III Ma. Magdalina Amban,  and Community Procurement OfficerCommunity Procurement Officer Bernice Marie Chavez,  alongside Area and Municipal Coordinating Teams, MLGU, and BLGU staff.
