KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) — At least 101 farmers in Tboli town recently received indemnity payments from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).
Information from the municipal agriculture office (OMag) disclosed that the checks disbursed have a total amount of P554,142.00.
According to OMag-Tboli, the claimants were farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
In a statement, Mayor Keo Dayle Tuan thanked the PCIC for facilitating the release of cash aid to farmers whose crops and livestock were affected by recent calamities.
Mayor Tuan also noted that the release of indemnity pays demonstrated the importance of ensuring the crops of farmers in the area.
Tuan said the local government unit of Tboli continues to urge farmers to enlist in RSBSA for easier access and availment of needed government interventions.
RSBSA is an electronic compilation of basic information of farmers, farm laborers and fishers that serves as basis for the Department of Agriculture in providing government-funded services that include inputs, financial subsidies, and insurance, among others. (PIA-XII)
