DSWD provides P.6M worth of assistance to Nika-affected individuals in Ifugao

LAGAWE, Ifugao(PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-SWAD) in Ifugao has provided more than P.6 million worth of assistance to families affected by typhoon Nika in the province.

SWAD data indicate that as of November 20, 2024, the DSWD has distributed a total of 702 family food packs (FFPs) worth P556,580.68 to affected population in the towns of Aguinaldo, Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Hingyon, Kiangan, and Lagawe.

Non-food items consisting of hygiene kits, family kits, kitchen and sleeping kits amounting to P53,615.09 were also distributed in the towns of Alfonso Lista, Hingyon, Kiangan, Lagawe and Lamut.

To ensure that essential supplies are delivered promptly and effectively to those in need amidst the accessibility challenges, the Angels in Red Vest have to find ways to deliver the assistance.

Meanwhile, the DSWD-SWAD and other authorities in Ifugao continue to monitor the combined effects of the recent typhoons that impacted the province. (MBL, PIA CAR, Ifugao).
