DSWD XI rolls out i-Rehistro for 4Ps beneficiaries in Davao City

DAVAO CITY (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region XI introduced the i-Rehistro web portal to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Davao City.

Beneficiaries, especially pregnant women and parents of children aged 0-2 years old, actively participated in the i-Rehistro Orientation, gaining hands-on knowledge on efficiently updating their household information through a digital, self-service platform.

DSWD Project Development Officer IV of the National Household Targeting Officer April Dianne G. Torres-De Leon, said that i-Rehistro is just an alternative option. However 4Ps Beneficiaries can still do manual updating through Beneficiary Updating Forms remains the primary method.

“Ito lang po ay isang alternative way talaga para sa mga beneficiaries natin na may access sa internet at may mobile phones na, instead of manual, mag- open na lang sila online.” Torre-De Leon said.

(This is one alternative so our beneficiaries who have access to the internet and mobile phones instead of the manual method, can open it online.)

Torres-De Leon reported that the department has introduced the portal in eight regions, with additional areas scheduled for rollout in March.

Since the platform’s launch on December 6, over 14,000 updates have been recorded through self-service transactions, with the number reaching 10,000 updates per day nationwide by February.

Melodina Lapi, a 39-year-old resident of Barangay Matina Crossing and a 4Ps beneficiary, sees this government initiative as a valuable support system for families like hers.

Currently pregnant with her fifth child, she recognizes the program’s significance, especially as two of her children continue to receive assistance through 4Ps.

Tapos, sa ilang pag-eskwela, kinahanglan nila ilang uniform, ilang sapatos maka-provide,” Lapi said.

(For me it is very important – for instance we lack finances – 4Ps is a big help to my kids in their schooling, for their meals. If they get sick we can get medicines. And in their schooling if they need uniforms, shoes, they can provide.)

Additionally, Torres-De Leon urged 4Ps beneficiaries to update their information either manually or via i-Rehistro, emphasizing the importance of submitting accurate supporting documents to facilitate verification. She noted that the verification process includes callback procedures, where verifiers may contact beneficiaries for clarification. (REC / PIA XI)
