KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry here urged Aklanons, entrepreneurs pursuing business digitalization, and individuals who are committed to take trainings to join the DTI x Google Career Certification Program 2024.
According to DTI-Aklan information officer Dessa Anh Flores, the DTI x Google Career Certification Program 2024 is a free online training course of DTI in partnership with Google Philippines.
“It is a career scholarship certification program wherein successful applicants will be provided free licenses to access courses and be certified in six areas, namely: Data Analytics, User Experience (UX) Design, Project Management, IT Support/IT Automation, Digital Marketing & E-commerce, and Cybersecurity,” Flores explained.
She added that the courses being offered are self-paced arrangement which means that learners can study anywhere and anytime, as long as they willl finish the whole module by December 31, 2024.
Courses typically take three to six months to complete or approximately 120 hours at 10 hours per week.
“The province of Aklan and Guimaras have combined 500 slots and as of June 25, 2024, there are 100 slots that are still available. We are encouraging Aklanons to take this opportunity since this is Free of Charge and they could gain competitive credentials from Google,” said Flores, adding that learners can register for multiple certification courses.
The program is open to all Filipino citizens, 18 years old and above and as long as he or she is committed to completing the course within the specified timeframe. Interested applicants are preferably possessed with gadget and access to the internet.
“We also encourage to join micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) owners who are pursuing digitalization of their business and/or their employees or staff as this could help a lot in their businesses ; and of course women, out-of-school youth, persons with disability, senior citizens, those unemployed or under-employed,” Flores noted.
