BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – As the opening of the 2025 school year approaches, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured consumers of stable prices and quality school supplies in Nueva Vizcaya.
Acting DTI Provincial Director Ramil Garcia said the agency has launched its Price and Supply Monitoring of School Supplies (PSMS) program to support the Consumer Welfare Act and promote access to affordable, quality school essentials.
As part of the initiative, DTI teams have begun monitoring prices and availability in key retail stores in Solano and Bayombong, focusing on essential items such as notebooks, pad paper, ballpens, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers.
“This monitoring activity helps us set a baseline to ensure that commonly used school supplies remain accessible and reasonably priced for students throughout the province,” Garcia said.
Retailers were also reminded to comply with mandatory price tag display rules, while consumers were urged to stay alert and report any pricing irregularities or unfair practices to the nearest DTI office.
Garcia emphasized that the price monitoring is part of DTI’s continuing effort to protect consumers and maintain fair market prices ahead of the school year. (BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
