BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) handed out Bagwis Seal of Excellence to 16 business establishments here.
Rowena Mayangat, acting DTI provincial director, said the awarding was part of the Consumer Welfare Month Celebration where the business establishments were recognized for their active efforts in upholding consumer rights and in ensuring that consumers get the best value for their money through practicing responsible business.
The 16 Bagwis Seal of Excellence awardees include: (Gold Bagwis Award): Sanford Marketing Corporation – Savemore Bambang, Sanford Marketing Corporation – Savemore Bayombong, Sanford Marketing Corporation – Savemore Solano 1, Sanford Marketing Corporation – Savemore Solano 2; (Silver Bagwis Award): Abacus Book and Card Corporation – National Book Store, Consumers Appliance Traders – Highway Bambang, JNM Auto Shop Bambang, JNM Auto Shop Bayombong; (Bronze Bagwis Award): Allmighty Industrial Trading, Consumers Appliance Traders – Rizal Bambang, Konstrukt Hardware – Bayombong, Konstrukt Hardware – Solano, MR. DIY – Bambang, MR. DIY – Solano, S&J Caleon Marketing, Inc. and United-Home Hardware.
The DTI-Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for money.
The program also encourages the setting up of Consumer Welfare Desks (CWDs) or an equivalent customer relations office inside the mall that will provide information to consumers and serve as a mechanism for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints.
Mayangat challenged the awardees to assume the responsibility as exemplars or role models for other businesses, in terms of championing consumer welfare and ethical business practices in the province.

“Today’s activity might mark the end of our month-long 2023 Consumer Welfare Month celebration, but this doesn’t mean that this is also the end of our work on advocating consumer welfare,” she said.
The DTI also recognized its 17 partner stakeholders and consumer warriors such as the National Food Authority, the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative, the Philippine Information Agency, the Philippine National Police, the PDRRMO, Zonta Club of Nueva Vizcaya, TIBIK, Inc., Saint Mary’s University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Department of Education, Philippine Statistics Authority, DA-Nueva Vizcaya Experimental Station, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Nueva Vizcaya Contractors Association, Inc., AgrizKaya Cooperative Federation, Tagaligtas Riders Philippines Inc.
