DAVAO CITY (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry in Davao Occidental has brought the ‘Negosyo Center’ program to Sarangani town, aiming to provide economic growth opportunities for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the island municipality.
This marked the 100 percent establishment of Negosyo Centers in the entire Davao Region, and made it the 1,405th Negosyo Center nationwide.
In his message during the recent launching at the municipal ground in Barangay Mabila, DTI Davao Occidental program manager Candido Limikid underscored the presence of the Negosyo Center as this offers accessible business support services to MSMEs.
“With the establishment of this Negosyo Center, we are bringing essential services closer to the people of Sarangani Island. This will empower local entrepreneurs, create more economic opportunities, and help sustain the livelihood of our communities,” Limikid stated.
One of the available services in the center is the business registration that facilitates the processing and documentation of paper requirements necessary for the establishment of MSMEs.
Another assistance is the advisory support tailored according to the needs of the MSMEs, which include product development, trade promotion, financing facilitation, investment matching, and counselling.
Limikid said that economic, technical, market and investment-related materials and information campaigns through training, seminars, dialogues, and publications, will also be made available in the facility.
The municipality of Sarangani has two main islands called ‘Balut’ and Sarangani. It is composed of twelve barangays whose residents are mostly from the ethnic tribes of Sangils, Blaan and Muslims.
Sarangani is known for its pristine natural beauty, with clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life, offering a welcoming haven for diving enthusiasts and nature lovers. (CLC/PIA Davao Occidental)
