DTI-Misamis Oriental’s MSME One Expo 2024 hits over a million in sales

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) — The MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) One Expo 2024, held on July 5-7 at Centrio Ayala Mall in Cagayan de Oro City, generated over a million in sales, according to the Department of Trade and Industry-Misamis Oriental.

In partnership with the Provincial Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Council (PMSMEDC) Misamis Oriental—Cagayan de Oro City, this expo is a trade promotion program of DTI Misamis Oriental. During the expo, DTI-Misamis Oriental OIC Provincial Director Jesusa M. Abear said MSMEs were able to showcase their products and services to visitors and mall-goers, explore more opportunities, and build valuable networks as they engaged with fellow entrepreneurs and partners.

“We are delighted to announce that we have achieved our goals for this event. Over the course of three days, we generated over a million in sales, established valuable networks, and acquired significant knowledge,” Abear stated.

The event also featured talks on social media marketing, e-commerce, logistics, and financial literacy, among others, which equipped MSMEs with more knowledge to develop their businesses and reach a wider network. There are also industry talks featuring successful entrepreneurs, workshops on business development and marketing, networking with logistic and e-commerce providers, supplier-buyer matching, an exciting Tiktok Challenge, and raffle prizes.

“Throughout this expo, we have witnessed remarkable innovations and dynamic solutions driving our MSMEs growth. The integration of logistics and e-commerce has opened new avenues for businesses, enabling them to reach a wider market, and operate more efficiently. It is evident that the digital economy is not just the future but the present, and our MSMEs are at the forefront of this evolution,” Abear added.

The DTI Misamis Oriental chief said the expo has demonstrated that through public and private partnerships, there would be an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, fosters growth, and drives sustainable development.

“To our MSMEs, your participation and enthusiasm are truly inspiring. You are the backbone of the economy; your success is proof of your hard work, ingenuity, and resilience.
