DTI-NCRO plants bamboo trees for PH Bamboo Month

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — In celebration of Philippine Bamboo Month and World Bamboo Day this September, the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO).

Through the Center for Innovation and Technology for Enterprises (CITE), DTI-NCRO joined hands with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) NCR, the City Government of Marikina through its Parks Development Office, River Parks Authority and City Environmental Management Office and Barangay Malanday for this year’s Nationwide Simultaneous Bamboo Planting Activity.

With the theme “Buhay-Kawayan: Haligi ng Industriya’t Kalikasan, Pag-asa sa Kinabukasan,” the event was held along the Road Dike of Barangay Malanday in Marikina City.

The 2024 Nationwide Simultaneous Bamboo Planting Activity aims to encourage sustainable practices and highlight the ecological and economic benefits of bamboo.

The event was also supported by Delfi Foods Inc., PCA Marivalley Constructors Association Inc., Knights of Columbus, Food Caterers Association of the Philippines, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-New Marikina, Rover Scout Circle 314, Cooperative Union of Marikina City, Barangka Credit Cooperative, MPC, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Marikina Sapatos, and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Marikina Marikit.
