DTI Pangasinan urges service, repair enterprises to renew accreditation by end of January

DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan has called on all service and repair enterprises (SREs) in the province to renew their accreditation on or before Jan. 31, as mandated by Presidential Decree No. 1572.

Provincial Director Natalia Dalaten explained that the decree mandates all enterprises and technical personnel engaged in the repair and servicing of equipment to be duly accredited with DTI before operating their businesses.

Dalaten explained that accreditation ensures businesses comply with industry standards and safeguards consumers from unethical or substandard practices.

The accreditation applies to businesses engaged in:

  • Repair and servicing of motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and electronics.
  • Engineering works, electrical systems, air conditioning, refrigeration, and office equipment.
  • Medical and dental apparatus, appliances, machinery, and other consumer devices.

Dalaten highlighted that accredited shops must have proper tools and employ technicians certified by TESDA, ensuring they possess the necessary training and skills.

Accredited establishments provide a 90-day service warranty, offering added assurance of quality.

Accreditation fees range from P350 to P500. Additional charges include a P50 filing fee and a P30 documentary stamp fee.

Dalaten also reminded businesses of a 25 percent surcharge for late renewal.

“Under the rules and regulations, all SREs must renew their accreditation by January 31st of each year to avoid surcharges for late filing. Enterprises must also notify the DTI of the cessation of their operations within seven days from their last day of operation,” she added.

SREs can renew their accreditation at the DTI Pangasinan office on the 2nd floor of Star Building, Arellano Street, Dagupan City. Alternatively, they may email [email protected] or call (075) 636-3975 for assistance.

Dalaten urged all SREs to comply promptly, saying that continued non-compliance could result in Show Cause Orders and formal charges. (CCMT/EMSA, PIA Pangasinan)
