LANAO DEL NORTE (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10 officially handed over the shared service facility (SSF) for packaging and labeling support for the Lanao del Norte food processing and training hub to Mindanao State University (MSU)-Maigo.
As a flagship program of the DTI, the SSF provides micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with access to advanced machinery, equipment, and technical support through a shared system.
This P4.6 million packaging and labeling facility aims to support MSMEs in Lanao del Norte and nearby areas. It specializes in automated processing, packaging, and labeling services and also offers product development assistance.

Local MSMEs producing solid, liquid, and powdered products will benefit from the facility’s ability to improve product presentation, increase production capacity, and support product diversification. By enhancing visual appeal and enabling larger production volumes, the SSF will help MSMEs reach a wider market and achieve greater commercial success.
During the launch, DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Jane Marie Tabucan emphasized the significance of this collaboration with the academe.
“The SSF launch strengthens our roles as community partners, working together toward a shared goal of elevating local businesses while enriching students’ innovation experiences,” she said.
Representatives from DTI Lanao del Norte, MSU-Maigo, and the provincial government of Lanao del Norte attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. (DTI-10/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
