MARAWI CITY (PIA)—Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim reaffirmed the Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to ensuring that healthcare is accessible to all its citizens.
In his 6th Chief Minister’s Report to the Bangsamoro on January 22, Ebrahim emphasized the significant strides made in expanding healthcare facilities and services across the region, particularly in underserved communities.
“Healthcare is not a privilege but a right accessible to all,” he stated, highlighting key programs like Ayudang Medikal Mula sa Bangsamoro Government (AMBAG), Bangsamoro Critical Assistance in Response to Emergency Situations (BCARES), and the Medical Assistance to Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP).
In the 2024 year-end accomplishment of BARMM, AMBaG ensured zero-balance hospital billing for 167,902 patients, while the BCARES program also helped 28,076 indigent beneficiaries with hospitalization, medical, and burial assistance.
Other achievements he highlighted include the establishment of 112 Barangay Health Stations, 15 Rural Health Units, and the provision of 115 Land Ambulances, 18 Sea Ambulances, 25 Cadaver Transport Vehicles, and 8 Mobile Clinics since the transition began.
“These strides echo our priorities of universal health care, social protection, and quality education as we work toward holistic development for every Bangsamoro,” he added.
The Bangsamoro leader underscored that the Government of the Day remains steadfast in improving healthcare services for the Bangsamoro people. (BIO/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
