ILIGAN CITY (PIA) — The conduct of the 2025 midterm elections here was generally peaceful, according to Iligan City Police Office (ICPO).

“We are very happy na very peaceful jud ang atong pagpahigayon sa election diri sa Iligan City.

(We are very happy that the conduct of the election here in Iligan City was indeed very peaceful. We made intensive preparations and strengthened the conduct of checkpoints to ensure the safety of our people in the city.)

A minor incident occurred at Purok PTH, Barangay Dulag, involving a commotion between a barangay kagawad and a voter. Several individuals were involved, resulting in minor injuries. The situation was de-escalated by duty personnel at Dulag Elementary School, with quick response teams arriving shortly after. The parties agreed to resolve the matter through traditional tribal and barangay processes.

Tambis said the incident did not disrupt overall peace and order during the election.

The ICPO reported multiple apprehensions related to the Commission on Elections gun ban. Exact figures have not yet been released.

Regarding the liquor ban, Tambis said residents were informed in advance and followed regulations.
