BANGUED, Abra (PIA) — Multiple permitting services of the Department and Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) were made available for Abrenians through the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB)-Cordillera.
The Permitting on Wheels was stationed at the 3rd Floor of the Provincial Capitol for two days where various services were offered such as Environmental Compliance Certificate or Certificate of Non-Coverage Permit applications, permit to operate, discharge permit, accreditation services, and Hazardous Waste Generator Registration.
These were availed by private companies especially those involved in large-scale constructions, local government units, and the general public. Around 100 Abrenian clients were catered during the activity.
EMB-Cordillera Clearance and Permitting Division Chief Engr. Marie Pina Rodas said that Abra is the first province in the Cordillera region to benefit from the Permitting on Wheels program for this year.
“Dito sa Abra ang pinaka-first na activity natin for Permitting on Wheels this year. This promotes accessibility of EMB services of our stakeholders in the province of Abra,” Rodas said.
EMB-Cordillera Regional Director Engr. Jean C. Borromeo underscored the Bagong Pilipinas campaign which is bringing the services of the government closer to the people.
“Kaakibat po sa Bagong Pilinas ni Pangulong Marcos na ilapit natin ang ating programs sa mga tao kaya natin dinala itong permitting services ng DENR dito sa Abra,” Borromeo emphasized. (JDP/CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
