ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry – Capiz empowers 11 young entrepreneurs in the province during the three-day Youth Entrepreneurs’ Business (YEB): An Entrepreneurial Guide to Building a Business program.
Eleven tertiary and senior high students from five universities and colleges completed YEB training at the Conference Room, DTI-Capiz Provincial Office in Roxas City.
According to DTI Capiz, the program delved into the intricacies of the Business Model Canvas, the importance of maintaining a robust online presence, and the critical aspect of financial management in business.

Aside from the training, the agency also acknowledged four youth entrepreneurs for their outstanding pitching performance, which culminates the 2024 YEB.
Erwell Bacalangco, an upcoming fourth-year student of Capiz State University, is among the winners of this year’s outstanding entrep-pitchers.
Bacalangco’s winning business proposal, ‘Karisoba,’ is an innovative food business selling noodles.
Financial management and market analysis were highlighted in the training.
“We were taught what things we should consider, especially the financial aspect, and to study the market and environment first before putting up the business,” Bacalangco added.
He also plans to launch his product this year at his school and Robinsons Place in Roxas City, through the university’s Entrep corner inside the mall.
Ma. Angeline Laurilla, a Grade 12 senior high student from the University of Perpetual Help in Roxas City also won first place during the culminating activity.
Laurilla shared that her business proposal is a Caregiving Agency for the Elderly and Children as their family personally experienced having a hard time looking for house helpers.
She noted that even though she is one of the youngest participants still the seminar was helpful for her future business plans.
“The resource person divulged what is happening in the reality of business and not just theories. One of my important takeaways during the training is to be a risk-taker, as our resource person said having a business requires taking risks,” she added. (EAD-PLF/PIA Capiz)
