MANILA — The now paved and rehabilitated road in the agricultural area of Barangay Mambalite in Libmaman, province of Camarines Sur has significantly improved the quality of life for residents, particularly for the farmers. The upgraded road has provided a more efficient and cost-effective means of transporting agricultural produce to market centers, positively impacting the local economy and livelihoods of the residents.
“The improved road has not only made transportation more convenient but has also enabled farmers to reach a wider customer base,” said Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Camarines Sur 2nd District Engineer Leandro O. Visorde to DPWH 5 Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte in his recent project report.
A 1.32-lane-kilometer road has been paved, providing a smooth, durable, all-weather surface, ensuring safe driving conditions for common vehicles and road users.
“Malaking tulong saamin ito sa pang araw-araw na trabaho at pagpasok ng mga estudyante, simula ng naayos yung daan nagmahal ang value ng and properties, pati yung mga presyo ng talong, mais, rice mas malaki na ang profit dahil less cost na sa hauling kasi nakakaderesto na sa mismong farmer.”
“This newly constructed road has greatly benefitted our community especially students, increased value of land properties and provides easy access of transportation of agricultural goods, reducing travel time and costs especially to farmers,” said Domingo M. Solas, a resident carpenter, or mason in the said barangay and one of the project beneficiaries of the road improvement.
Completed by the DPWH Camarines Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) in the total amount of P48.44 million, funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2023. (DPWH)
