ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has successfully completed the enhancement of the Libertad Mangrove and Aqua Silvi Culture Park in Barangay Libertad, Odiongan, Romblon.
With funding amounting to approximately P8.5 million, TIEZA invested in various facilities for leisure, including a boardwalk, cottages, green restrooms, and a gathering area.
The turnover of the park was recently conducted, with TIEZA and local government officials handing over the management responsibilities to the Community Barangay Officials, Fisherfolks, and Farmers Association (COMBOFIFA), the association expected to oversee the park.
In an interview with PIA Romblon, Alfonso Firmalo, the association’s president, expressed the significance of being chosen as the beneficiary of the project, stating that the funding is a considerable help for them.
He emphasized that aside from boosting tourism in their barangay and town, it will also provide assistance to the fishermen and farmers who are members of their association who will collaborate in managing and safeguarding the area.
A temporary entrance fee of P30 is implemented, and the park is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa – Romblon)
