‘Enteng’ leaves Cagayan Valley with zero casualty

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) — Tropical Storm ‘Enteng’ passed through the Cagayan Valley region with no reported casualties or major damage.

According to a report from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC), 292 families, totaling 1,030 individuals, were affected across 18 municipalities in the region.

The report also indicated that seven evacuation centers remain open, accommodating 67 families and 213 individuals.

Civil Defense Regional Director Leon DG. Rafael noted that families still in evacuation centers due to flooding are receiving relief assistance.

In Quirino province, the Department of Social Welfare and Development has distributed 50 family food packs to affected families, while relief operations continue in Cagayan and Isabela.

As of now, Rafael mentioned that there have been no reports of casualties or major damage, but the council is actively monitoring the situation, particularly as the Cagayan River continues to rise.

The Department of Trade and Industry oversees the prices and supply of basic needs and prime commodities and has reminded businesses of the price freeze policy during calamities.

Classes and work, which have been suspended, have now resumed across the entire region. (OTB/PIA Region 2)
