QUEZON CITY (PIA) — Former Vice President Leni Robredo has thanked House Deputy Majority Leader and ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo for the swift grant of approval of accreditation to the Angat Buhay Foundation when he was still the secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
“Thank you for the speedy approval of the accreditation of our foundation before kahit na we were considered the opposition,” former VP Robredo told Rep. Tulfo when they met at a restaurant in Naga City.
To which Rep. Tulfo replied, “Naku, ma’am, mahigpit na bilin ni Pang. Marcos, walang titingnang kulay ang DSWD sa pagtulong hanggang ngayon.”
(Ma’m, it’s a strict directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. that the DSWD must never base its provision of assistance on political color, up to now.)
“Instruction kasi ni PBBM sa lahat ng kalihim niya na tulungan ang sinumang lalapit sa gobyerno kahit nasa oposisyon pa ito,” Rep. Tulfo said.
(It is PBBM’s instruction to all his cabinet secretaries to help anyone who would ask for help from the government, even if they belong to the opposition.)
Former VP Robredo also admitted to Tulfo that she is no longer interested in running for a national position in the upcoming elections.
The former vice president has filed her Certificate of Candidacy for the mayoralty race in Naga City. (PIA DMD)
