ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — MS Heritage Adventurer, a small ship expedition, made her way to the Sibuyan island, Romblon last June 29.
The local government of San Fernando represented by Tourism Officer Jerome Madrona, welcomed 81 crew and 81 passengers, mostly retired scientists and professionals from New Zealand and Australia.
This marked MS Heritage Adventurer’s first-ever visit to Sibuyan Island and the second cruise arrival in the municipality this year.
For more than 35 years, MS Heritage Adventurer (formerly known as MS Hanseatic) has pioneered conservation-driven small-ship expedition cruises to some of the planet’s wildest, least-explored, and biologically rich regions, including the South-East Asian islands.
They visited several tourist attractions on the island such as the Cantingas River Resort, Casa Del San Fernando, Roldan’s Agri-Tourism Farm, Obra Manabo Weavers’ Association (rattan bike weaving), bird watching in Brgy. Taclobo, and Cresta de Gallo.
According to the expedition leader of the cruise ship, they will again visit and include Sibuyan Island in their cruise itinerary next year with some new route or tour package to be offered. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
