Farm-to-Market road projects in Nueva Vizcaya underway

KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the Barangay and Municipal Local Governments of this Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, has poured in over P17 million funds for the improvement of farm-to-market roads for upland villagers.  

The DSWD through its  Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Service (KALAHI-CIDSS) and the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay-Community Driven Development (KKB-CDD) programs gave P15 million while the barangay and municipal LGUs shelled out P139,800 and more than P1.8 million respectively as counterpart funds. 

The funds will be used for the development and improvement of  FMRs in Barangay Alloy such as the  Alloy-Dine Road,  Upper Mangkatad Purok 1 to Upper Balangubong Watwat road in Barangay Poblacion and another in Barangay Watwat.  

DSWD Area Coordinating Team members and  Regional Program Management Office OIC-Division Chief Pasencia Ancheta, Kasibu Mayor Romeo Tayaban, Vice Mayor Alberto Bumulo, Jr., Sangguniang Bayan members, and barangay officials recently held the groundbreaking program for the FMR projects.  

Ancheta said the FMR projects will surely empower the upland villagers of Kasibu towards development. 

“Your unity and cooperation to realize these projects are more important than the infrastructure itself, our community villagers will give life to these projects,” she said.  

Mayor Bumolo thanked the DSWD for allocating the funds needed for the improvement of their FMRs. 

“These FMRs, once completed will not only provide easy transport of agricultural products of our villagers but more on peace and safety of the community. Let us take care of these projects so that it will last for the younger generations to come,” he said. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
