Fathers are known for their immeasurable strength, unconditional love, and undeniable wisdom.
They play an active role in parenting, other than the stereotypical notions about fathers as sole provider, protector, and disciplinarian in the family.
In these modern times, fatherhood embraces new skills and values in order to create a safe and loving environment for their children.
Mothers are not only the ones who need pampering. Fathers need it too!
That is why on June 20, the state-run Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) will be treating their employees, who are fathers, with a free haircut at the University Student Center.
This activity is organized by the MMSU Gender and Focal Point System (GFPS) and Planning Office as a way of appreciating the hard work and sacrifices of fathers for their family.
“This activity is a simple way of saying ‘Thank You’ for all that fathers do to keep us happy, healthy, and safe,” said MMSU in their official Facebook page.
According to GFPS focal person Nataliza Llapitan, this event will be in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte under its program “Livelihood Assistance Project cum Project Shop-IN.”
The university will also be distributing key chains to all fathers during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday as a memento of this year’s Father’s Day celebration.
Moreover, there will be a tribute lunch to solo dads at the university’s Sip Hub as a salute for responsibly playing both roles – father and mother, to their children.
