Getting caffeine fix on the roadside café in Luna

Are you on a road trip to the vicinity of San Fernando City, La Union and you feel like you need a pause?

Keep a sharp eye on Antidoze Coffee, a pop-up coffee shop on the roadside of Luna town that works with local roasters for its brewed coffee and bottled and cupped beverages.

A 45-minute travel from San Fernando City will bring you to a tiny mobile café which is situated in a man-made forest in Luna.

The pop-up coffee shop, which started in March this year, aims to bring home local coffee to the people on the road as it puts a spotlight on coffee beans sourced from all over the province.

Mr. Dante Coloma, co-owner of Antidoze Coffee, said establishing a pop-up café and brewing near an overlooking view eases the darkest day of life.

“What melts city-hoppers and tourists is that our mobile café has a minimalist aesthetic and seating areas that take you in a cozy scenery especially as we are located at the man-made forest of Luna,” said Coloma.

Starting at P40 for a cup, the café serves varieties of coffee grounds such as Sagada coffee, brewed Americano, butterscotch, cinnamon, hazelnut, and vanilla-flavored brews.

It also offers non-caffeinated products like local chocolate and matcha latte.

Moreover, Coloma said that when it comes to warm coffee, their Moka Pot Latte is a must-try as it blends bitter and sweet flavor in every sip.

“This café sets a mood that carries you into reveries lalo na kapag nai-pair ang coffee sa pastry like our churros,” said Coloma.

As of writing, they’re planning to expand the business from a mini car into a customized truck to roam around the province.

If you find yourself along the streets of Luna, you might want to try Antidoze on weekends from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. (JCR/AMB/KJCR, PIA La Union)
