Federation of parents, teachers holds bloodletting anew

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Federated Parents-Teachers Association (FPTA) of the Division of Tuguegarao City collected 55 bags of blood during the annual bloodletting activity with the theme “Donate Blood, Protect Learners.”

Pastor Joe Poblete, FPTA president, Division of Tuguegarao City, said the bloodletting aims to help learners needing blood as well as the community.

“This bloodletting is a worthwhile activity to save lives,” the re-elected FPTA President Poblete said.

He likewise expressed his gratitude to those parents, police officers and other stakeholders who donated their blood.

Last year, the FPTA initiated the first bloodletting activity and donated 68 bags to Cagayan Valley Medical Center’s Blood Bank.

The FPTA is composed of 35 SPTA presidents from the public and three private schools, with an enrollment as of November 23, 2023 totaling 44,067 learners, according to data from the Division of Tuguegarao City, with a breakdown of 34,637 from public schools, 9,046, from private schools, and an alternative learning school of 384.

The activity is in partnership with Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Masagana Micro Finance Inc. Police Regional Office 02, PNP Forensic Group, Office of the Congressman Joseph Lara, 3rd District Board Member Pastor Ross Resuello, Mayor Maila Ting-Que, SDO Tug.
