ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The town of Ferrol is among the municipalities in the province of Romblon with the lowest crime incidents this year.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Churchill Javier, Chief Investigator of the Ferrol Municipal Police Station, reported that since January of this year, only 13 crime incidents have been recorded in the town. Of the figure, four were vehicular accidents, two involved crimes against women, while the rest were classified as isolated like mauling incidents.
“Wala tayo ditong mga krimen katulad nang mga napapanood natin sa TV na mga karumaldumal,” he said.
Javier, who guested during the PIA Barangay Forum in Poblacion, Ferrol on September 25, highlighted the town’s low crime rate as a reflection of the effective partnership between the police, local government, and the community in maintaining peace and order.
Data from the Romblon Police Provincial Office revealed that Ferrol, along with Concepcion, Banton, Calatrava, Corcuera, Magdiwang, and Sta. Maria, is recognized for its minimal crime rates.
Meanwhile, Ferrol Municipal Police Station Executive Senior Police Officer Mayla Frane also attributed the peacefulness of their town to being a drug-cleared municipality. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
