Ini matapos ginpakita sang mga lokal nga artisans kag manughabol ang ila mga fibercrop nga produkto sa aktibidad sang PhilFIDA nga “Likhang Hibla, Bida!!!” Weaving Heritage into Market Connections sa Zuri Hotel, Mandurriao, syudad sang Iloilo.
Ang mga kooperatiba nga nagpasakop amo ang mga benepisyaryo sang proyekto nga Establishment of Weaving and Processing Centers, nga ginapangunahan sang Office ni Senator Loren Legarda, sa kolaborasyon sa PhilFIDA- Fiber Utilization and Technology Division.
Sa iya mensahe, ginpunto ni Legarda nga ang patililipon indi lamang para i-selebrar ang kultura sang fibers sa pungsod kundi para man sa pagporma sang palaabuton sa diin ang amo nga palanublion nagauswag sa pangkalibutanon nga mga merkado.
“Our traditional fibers and weaves must be celebrated and safeguarded as both heritage and a sustainable source of livelihood for our farmers, weavers, and artisans. I have been deeply committed to preserving and promoting our indigenous weaving traditions and the Philippine fiber industry,” siling ni Legarda.

“The industry holds vast potential to support our rural economies, especially for our MSMEs. This why through the Magna Carta for MSMEs, I have also sought to ensure that our small producers, many of those who work in the fiber industry, receive the necessary support to thrive,” suno kay Legarda, samtang ginahagad sini ang tanan nga stakeholders nga mag-ulupdanay para dalhon ang Philippine fibers sa pangkalibutanon nga entablado.
Para kay Department of Agriculture (DA) Sec. Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr., ang kontribusyon sang natural nga fibers nagahatag sang masobra pa sa economic value bangud ginarepresentar sini ang kultura kag panubli-on sang mga Pilipino.
“Traditional arts expressed in woven fibers reflect the unique creativity, imagination, and ingenuity of our local weavers, producing exquisite, globally competitive Philippine products,” suno kay Laurel sa iya mensahe nga ginbasa ni DA Usec. Cheryl Marie Natividad-Caballero.
Iya man ginhambal nga ang pungsod nagakinahanglan sang mga sumalakdag nga magapadayon sa pagsuporta sa natural nga mga lanot ukon fibers.
“I salute our fibercrop farmers who sustain the production of these fibers. When your efforts are combined, they create a significant positive impact on the fiber industry,” dugang pa ni Laurel.
Ginpakigbahin man sang isa sa mga Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) nga nagpasakop sa aktibidad ang kalipay bangud sa ginhatag nga pamaagi sang PhilFIDA para mapakilala ang ila mga produkto.
“Ang mga produkto namin ay bags, shawls, wallets, and cloth. Ang summit ay nakatulong talaga nang marami sa amin dahil nakapunta kami rito para makapagbenta at na-experience namin makipagcommunicate sa ibang weavers,” siling ni Marife M. Pidot sang Lumbaan Weavers and Cotton Producers Cooperative halin sa Pinili, Ilocos Norte.
Bilang host sang national summit subong nga tuig, ginpakigbahin ni PhilFIDA 6 OIC- Regional Director Mary Ann G. Nerio ang matuod-tuod nga kahulugan sang aktibidad.
“The activity focus on promoting the different weaving and processing centers that PhilFIDA established and supported all over the Philippines. It is also our commitment to help them market and expand their business and we hope that involving them in activities like this, we help them to develop their products and to cater them to national market and eventually to international market,” siling ni Nerio.
