MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon (PIA) – For training barangay police and volunteers, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10 honored Hedcor at the 51st Fire Service Recognition Day, citing the hydropower firm’s commitment to life protection and community preparedness.
Hedcor, with BFP-10, conducts fire safety training and delivers vital equipment and emergency innovations to high-risk areas. AboitizPower and the Aboitiz Foundation prioritized rapid response by launching firefighting training in Bukidnon’s underserved Santiago and Maluko villages.
Through its firefighting training programs, Hedcor has empowered barangay police to serve as first responders, ensuring that communities are better equipped to handle fire emergencies.
Rolando Pacquiao, president and chief operating officer for Hedcor, said the training pays off as locals become better prepared to save lives and protect property.
“Through initiatives like the firefighting training program and fire safety awareness campaigns, we equip communities with the knowledge and resources to respond effectively to emergencies. We are proud to work with BFP and the Aboitiz Foundation to build a culture of preparedness and resilience,” he said.
Hedcor strengthened community emergency response by providing responders with firefighting gear—helmets, gloves, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers. These tools enable swift and effective action in emergencies, enhancing their confidence and preparedness.
“By equipping volunteers with knowledge, skills, and essential firefighting tools, the company has been instrumental in minimizing fire-related risks in Bukidnon’s remote areas,” Pacquiao added.
As a hydropower firm in Manolo Fortich town, Hedcor provides renewable energy by harnessing water power. It supports the local grid and drives sustainable energy production in the region. Beyond energy generation, Hedcor actively supports community development with disaster preparedness programs, fire safety training, and environmental conservation efforts. This collaboration strengthens community resilience and fosters long-term partnerships.
Hedcor’s impact extends beyond immediate assistance. By fostering continuous collaboration and steadfast dedication, the company is shaping a safer, more disaster-ready future for Bukidnon’s communities—where fire safety is not just a response but a way of life. (Hedcor-AboitizPower/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
