QUEZON CITY (PIA) — First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos visited the temporary offices of the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) on Monday, Oct. 14, to rally support for the industry.
In an Instagram post, the First Lady shows pictures of her during site inspection with the caption:
🎬 Had a productive visit to the temporary offices of the 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘮 𝘍𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 (𝗠𝗜𝗙𝗙) and the 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘮 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 (𝗙𝗗𝗖𝗣), as we eagerly anticipate the completion of their permanent home at the 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 in 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘴!✨
Now more than ever, it’s crucial to rally behind our local film industry. Our filmmakers are telling stories that need to be seen, not just here — but across the globe.
Let’s celebrate these incredible talents, and show the world what Filipino cinema is truly made of! 🎬✨
The Film Heritage Building in Intramuros, which started construction in 2023, is still underway.
While visiting the site the First Lady said, “This is part of the government’s efforts to support the Philippine film industry.”
She then urged the public to celebrate the incredible talents of Filipinos and the filmmakers to “show the world what Filipino cinema is truly made of.” (PIA DMD)
