First Post-SONA forum kicks off in Sultan Kudarat

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat (PIA) — The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) held this year’s first Post-State of the Nation Address (SONA) forum on Sept. 26 at the Sultan Kudarat Kudarat provincial gymnasium.

The post-SONA forum was held with “LAB For All Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat! Caravan” of the Office of First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos in the morning.

The host local government unit, Sultan Kudarat’s provincial government, provided over 3,000 beneficiaries with medical missions and basic intervention services.

“The goal of this event is to further highlight the government’s accomplishments under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. beyond the halls of Congress, where he recently delivered his State of the Nation Address,” said Atty. Allan Vincent Lorenzo, assistant director-general for legal affairs and administration, who represented PIA Director General Jose Torres Jr. in the forum.

The event aims to further inform the grassroots about government programs and projects, strengthening support and participation from local communities.

Naniniwala tayo na sa mga pagtitipong katulad nito ay mas mabibigyang-diin ang mga magagandang ginagawa at gagawin pa ng pamahalaan upang mapabuti ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan,” Lorenzo explained.

(We believe that gatherings like this will highlight the beneficial things that the government is doing and will continue to do to improve the lives of our fellow citizens.)

(By engaging with local communities, we aim to outline the benefits and opportunities brought about by these programs and encourage everyone to participate and be part of the change.)

Meanwhile, Sultan Kudarat First District Board Member Ian Jordan Abalos welcomed the province’s selection as the first venue for this year’s post-SONA forum.

“The forum provides us a valuable platform to discuss, analyze, and engage in a meaningful dialogue regarding the SONA, its implications to the province, in particular, and the country in general,” Abalos said.

He pointed out that such an event was also an opportunity for the province’s constituents “to gain a deeper understanding of government initiatives and their impact on the province and the region.”

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) also highlighted its programs, projects, and accomplishments during the post-SONA forum.

TESDA Deputy Director General for Special Concerns Felizardo Colambo underscored the agency’s commitment to enhancing the Filipino’s employability by providing free training.

(Therefore, we encourage you to contact Sultan Kudarat’s technical and vocational institutions, as well as the TESDA offices, to learn what skills are required so you can prepare yourself for employment.)

The PCO and PIA-led post-SONA forum is also scheduled to take place in the MIMAROPA, CARAGA, and Central Visayas regions. (DED – PIA Region 12)
