First time job-seekers to get free work clearances

TAGUM CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE (PIA)– Fresh graduates first-time job-seekers hired on the spot during the Job Fair on April 30, in Tagum City can avail of free clearances required for employment.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte provincial field office  offers this exclusive service to “newbie” job-seekers during the early rollout of Labor Day Jobs Fair on April 30, 2025 staged at Tagum City Hall Atrium.

Police, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI),  Barangay Clearance,  are among the  clearances  that  will be extended free-of-charge to fresh graduate job-seekers, said DOLE Davao del Norte Senior Labor and Employment Officer Jennylyn M. Rosalinda.

Rosalinda said this initiative was hatched in close coordination with the City Government of Tagum.

Job qualified first time job-seekers will just have to get a certificate as a first time job-seeker from the Barangay Desk of the 21 barangays of Tagum set up during the Jobs Fair. Non-Tagum residents can also avail of the same benefit by seeking a certification from their respective barangays, Rosalinda explained.

Meanwhile,  Rosalinda provided data for the April 30 Labor Day staging of DOLE Davao del Norte indicating  a total of 1,570  available vacancies offered by 21 participating employers.

The Top 5 job vacancies are  sales representative, customer service, technical support expert, cashiers/baggers, operations and management trainee & tellers.

Meanwhile, 14 local and national government agencies have signified interest to join the One-stop-shop Government Services which will be staged as a side-event in support of the Jobs Fair.

On top of the respective services that these agencies will bring and offer, DOLE Davao del Norte has arranged a staging of added special service, specifically, Labor Education and Livelihood Desk, Career Development Support Services.

Other special services are Business Coaching, Entrepreneurship Training, Skills Check, Negocart Product Display/Food Bazaar, COMELE Precinct Finder, Game Center and Photo Booth. (PIA/JMDA)
