FL Marcos leads groundbreaking of new FDA hub in Muntinlupa City

MANILA, (PIA) — First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos recently led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Building in Muntinlupa City.

The First Lady was joined by Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, FDA Director General Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, and Muntinlupa City Mayor Rozzano Rufino Biazon.

The budget chief recognized the crucial role of the FDA at the forefront of health and safety regulation.

I am eager to see how this site will transform and eventually, house a new building—a hub where innovation flourishes and excellence prevails,” said Sec. Pangandaman.

She added that the DBM’s supports FDA’s commitment to protecting and promoting public health pursued with renewed determination and vigor.

FDA is mandated to ensure the safety, efficacy or quality of health products which include food, drugs, cosmetics, devices, biologicals, vaccines, in-vitro diagnostic reagents, radiation-emitting devices or equipment, and household/urban hazardous substances, including pesticides and toys, or consumer products that may have an effect on health which require regulations as determined by the administration.  (JEG/PIA-NCR)
