Former rebels receive financial assistance from DILG

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – At least five former rebels have received financial assistance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Isabela Provincial Office under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), as outlined by Executive Order No. 70.

Officials handed over a total of P190,500 to the former rebels, which included payment for the surrendered firearms.

DILG Provincial Director Corazon Toribio emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting rebels who wish to return to the fold of the law through the E-CLIP, which has already assisted former rebels who surrendered in previous years.

She called on remaining rebels to surrender and take advantage of the government’s program, allowing them to reunite with their families and lead normal lives.

Toribio also expressed gratitude to the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and other members of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) for their continued support in implementing Executive Order No. 70. She assured that the DILG will continue fulfilling its mandate to assist as mandated by the order.(OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
