Fossilized flower makers trained in flower arrangement

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA)- – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quirino, in collaboration with the provincial government of Quirino, recently conducted a two-day capacity development training on fossilized flower arrangement at the Watersports Complex for 32 fossilized flower manufacturers of the province.

The activity aimed to promote creativity and innovation among fossilized flower makers, create value-adding to typically-assembled fossilized that can be sold in bigger and wider markets, and deepen understanding of current trends in flower arrangement. 

Provincial Administrator Carmelita B. Jimenez, who represented Governor Dax Cua, reiterated the commitment of the provincial government to the fossilized flower makers. 

The provincial administrator assured continuous support in the enhancement of product quality and at the same time assistance for the local MSMEs in promoting their products within and outside Quirino. 

Romeo P. Balderama, a medical practitioner and renowned exporter and industry leader in the wearables and lifestyle handicrafts sector in the Philippines, was tapped as a resource person for the said 2-day activity.  

Balderama conducted a demonstration on Ikebana styles – Moribana, a flat vase arrangement; Nageire, a standing vase arrangement; Jiyuka, a freestyle and Western-style flower arrangement.  

The participants had workshops on the different flower arrangements using fossilized flowers and other indigenous materials from the locality. (OTB/TCB, PIA Quirino)
