Four more Abra police units declared drug-free workplaces

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – Four more police units in the province of Abra were recently declared as drug-free workplaces.

The 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Dolores Municipal Police Station (MPS), Luba MPS, and Tubo MPS received the drug-free workplace award from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera (PDEA-CAR) director Laurel P. Gabales during a conferment ceremony in San Jose, Manabo on July 16.

Gabales recognized the efforts and hard work of the awardees to keep and promote drug-free communities and a peaceful province as a whole.

“You displayed an organization that champions integrity and highly contributes a positive impact to the whole province of Abra,” he said.

Aside from the awarding of confirmation, Gabales and Abra Police Provincial Director PCol. Jeremias Oyawon also led the unveiling of the drug-free workplace markers for each of the awardees.

Oyawon said that the declaration of the four units as drug-free workplaces showcases the dedication of the Abra police force in maintaining drug-free communities.

“I hope you continue in your vision for drug-free communities and the province of Abra,” he stressed.

In April 2024, the Abra Provincial Police Office including the 1st Abra PMFC, Lagayan MPS, Manabo MPS, Pilar MPS, and Sallapadan MPS were declared as drug-free workplaces.

The drug-free workplace is awarded to government offices that meet the criteria under the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 13, Series of 2018. Under the said regulation, all government offices should be free from the use of illegal substances through drug-free workplace policies and authorized drug testing for all elective and appointive public officers, among others.
