LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) — Heads up, travelers! There is a new domestic route that will bring you from the Queen City of the South to the Sunshine City of the North.
Through the initiative of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, the maiden flight of Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) new Cebu-Laoag route successfully took off on December 15.
Aimed at enhancing the existing connection between Cebu and Ilocos Norte, this domestic flight offer is also seen to enhance tourism, business, and leisure travel opportunities.
Travelers and vacationers from Visayas and Mindanao are also given the opportunity to explore the diverse and beautiful attractions of Ilocos Norte.

In Ilocos Norte, it is home to some historic landmarks, a well-satisfying gastronomic experience, and white sand beaches. Tourists are encouraged to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site- the St. Augustine Paoay Church and the famous banner of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.- the Bangui windmills.
Whether you are into history or food and beach adventures, travelers are indeed in for a treat in Ilocos Norte.
During the inaugural ceremony of the maiden flight, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc welcomed the PAL executives and Cebu-based online influencers who were among the 56 passengers of the said route.
“We have truly made history. We’re on the first commercial flight from Cebu to Laoag. We are very excited because we are opening up our province, our small, humble province of Ilocos Norte, to the central and southern Philippines,” said Manotoc.
Passengers on the maiden flight will be toured around Ilocos Norte until December 19.
According to PAL, the new domestic route will operate twice weekly with a convenient morning departure.
Every Tuesday and Friday, Flight PR 2251 will leave Cebu at 7:35 a.m. and will arrive in Laoag at 10.05 a.m. while PR 2252 will depart from Laoag on the same days at 10:25 a.m., and will reach Cebu at 12:35 p.m. (JCR/MJTAB PIA Ilocos Norte)
