Gov. Mangudadatu: VP Sara’s visit inspires SKSU students

TACURONG CITY, Sultan Kudarat (PIA) — “Mapalad ang mga kabataang Sultan Kudarateño sa pagbisita ni Vice President at DepEd Secretary Sara Z. Duterte,” Governor Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu said in his message welcoming the official.

“It symbolizes empowerment of our youth leader dahil alam naman natin, they are not only leaders of the youth, they are leaders of our community. And we are so blessed to have VP Inday Sara Duterte join us in this nation-building initiative that we all share together.”

Mangudadatu, recognizing the abilities of the SKSU students, said “they are really talented, magagaling sila” referring to the feat of SKSU’s College of Law in producing many lawyers, as well as the 100% passing rate in its College of Nursing.

Appreciating the many potentials of his fellow youth, the young governor assured them of his support of their dreams, their advocacy and their passion to ensure that they are not alone in their dreams of having and creating a better future for everyone.

Also counting on the help of the Vice President, Mangudadatu said “sa mga kabataan, sana tuloy-tuloy na ang lahat ng mga initiatives na ito, and rest assured that the provincial government is with you in all of your dreams and aspirations.”

Mangudadatu also mentioned that early this year, Sultan Kudarat First District Congresswoman Princess Rihan M. Sakaluran-Abdurajak has filed House Bill 6771 or the “Sultan Kudarat State University College of Medicine Act,” hoping that the establishment of the College of Medicine in the province can help poor but deserving students as well as address the shortage of doctors in the province and neighboring provinces.

This initiative, Mangudadatu said shall also provide scholarships and other programs necessary to shape and create doctors who can help the nation’s health care system.

VP Sara was invited as the guest of honor and speaker in the 2023 Student Leaders’ Assembly held at the university gymnasium on Monday, February 27, 2023. (PIA XII)
