Gov. Oaminal discusses MisOcc’s security situation with local execs, brgy leaders

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)– In a clamor for a more peaceful and orderly province, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal has met with mayors, barangay captains, and Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons to discuss the current security situation in their respective areas.

The local government units and village officials have consolidated their resolve for the overall security situation in Misamis Occidental.

In his discussion with the local officials, Oaminal noted that the security threat has decreased since the reported blasts in October.

“Subo kaayo mga kaigsuonan nga as of today, December 10, wala pa gihapon [unfortunately, as of December 10, there is still no] clear-cut resolution on the October 15 bombing incident and grenade throwing on October 20,” he said.

“Let’s go back to who and what’s the motive nganong naglisod man ang atong law enforcers sa pagsulbad. Kinsa sila ug kinsay nasagasaan sa atong reform [why it is difficult for our law enforcers to solve the case. Who were run over with the reform],” he added.

Oaminal reminded the local executives of the Misamis Occidental province to make basic services a priority rather than allowing themselves to be involved in senseless politics.

As to illegal drugs, Oaminal said some illegal operators are hoping to restore the multi-million drug business in the province.

Oaminal urged his fellow government officials to closely work with him in maintaining peace and order in the province so that those who wish to distort the Misamis Occidental won’t succeed in their illegal endeavor.

Oaminal noted that Misamis Occidental leaders should showcase oneness in pushing good local government for the overall betterment of the province.  The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all parties involved to work together proactively, share information, and implement measures that contribute to a secure and harmonious environment for the residents of Misamis Occidental. Oaminal emphasized that building a safer community requires ongoing dedication and a united front against security threats. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
