MAKATI CITY, (PIA) — Government agencies and partners come together towards poverty incidence in the Philippines.

On Friday, the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation (OPAPA) led by Secretary Larry Gadon, held the Poverty Alleviation Forum at the LBP Building in Makati City

The forum served as a collaborative platform designed to support the administration’s efforts to reduce poverty incidence to single digits by 2028, while ensuring all communities have access to essential resources such as food, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

It brought together key stakeholders from government and civil society to foster innovative and sustainable solutions that will help bridge gaps in current poverty alleviation initiatives.

Today, we will build upon existing partnerships and forge new ones, sharing best practices, identifying obstacles, and developing actionable strategies for sustained progress,” said Secretary Gadon.

Gadon stressed the need for a collaboration towards achieving tangible and sustainable outcomes.

Among the key government agencies and partners that presented their programs and projects in helping alleviate poverty in the country are the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

The fight against poverty is not a battle that can be won by any single entity. It requires a united front, a collaborative effort that brings together expertise and resources of all stakeholders.” (JEG/PIA-NCR)
